Passport & Customs

• You MUST have a current passport to enter Italy even if you are an EU citizen.
• If your passport gets lost or stolen while in Italy, go to the embassy of your country; in most cases this will be located in Rome.

International Airports

• Rome Fumincino (109km) — all international and domestic flights
• Pisa G. Galilei (192km) — most international and domestic flights

Domestic Airports

• Perugia (36km) — two airlines fly to/from Perugia – Ryanair and Belle Air
• Rome Ciampino (110km) — most budget flights
• Florence Amerigo Vespucci (150km) — most domestic flights


Getting to Todi

By Car

It’s highly recommended that you rent a car from the airport as this is the easiest way to get around. Most car rentals offer manual cars and these are usually the best rates. If you require an automatic car, book well in advance as these are limited. Best rental agencies are Hertz, Avis and Europe Car. Be aware that you will be required to leave a deposit on a credit card and you will be charged airport and state taxes.

When driving from Rome Fumincino or Ciampino airports, you will connect to the A1 North towards Firenze (Florence) and then Perugia. When driving from Pisa or Florence airports, you will connect to the A1 South towards Perugia. When driving from Perugia airport, you will connect to the E45 towards Perugia. All roads lead to Todi. Detailed directions will be provided.

By Train

If you are arriving from Rome airports, you will need to take a bus or taxi to the central train station in Rome and connect to trains from there. The closest major train station to Todi is Terni www.trenitalia.com. From here, you would take a bus to Todi www.atcterni.it. Or, you can connect to a regional train to Todi/Ponte Rio station, the closest local station to Todi www.umbriamobilita.it/it/orari/servizio-ferroviario. Todi/Ponte Rio station is about 10 min from the house. From the station, you would need to take a local bus or taxi.

If you are arriving from Pisa or Florence airports, you would need to take a train from the main stations in either city to Perugia where you would connect to a bus to Todi or connect to the regional train to Todi/Ponte Rio.

By Bus

Buses run to/from the center of Todi (Piazza Jacapone near the main piazza) to Rome, Perugia, Terni and most major cities. The main bus line is SULGA www.sulga.it.
